[This is an archive post about the first version of Avoyd which we now call Avoyd 1999. The full game is now free to download.]
The mayhems' for the whole week, as we grind our gears and prepare for another release. With much ado, and a short vacation looming over the horizon, I'm hedging my bets by saying that we'll delay rather than release if there are any problems.
We're about to hit the forty thousand downloads mark, (once again, that's 40,000), which for a shareware style game is quite a mean feet. Many more downloads have actually been made than we count, as there are a vast array of mirrors of our files out there. I'm pretty happy about this, as it puts us at the top of the league (at least in popularity) of small 3D games. Currently, the internet gaming scene is having a hard time, with the disappearance of many websites and the change in focus of others. This has contributed to a slow down over the last month, with the Terrorist attack in United States and the ensuing combat in Afghanistan also diverting peoples attention from the trivial to the horrific. We're still going strong, and hope to continue to do so.
